Coach Bruce Boudreau indicated that while Gibson (upper body) is "getting closer" to a return, the goalie isn't expected to be available for Thursday's Game 1 matchup with the Jets, Elliott Teaford of the Los Angeles Daily News reports. Gibson wasn't able to practice with the team Wednesday, virtually ensuring that Frederik Andersen will make the start for Game 1 while Jason LaBarbera serves as the backup in goal. The Ducks continue to view Gibson as day-to-day, so for the moment, it doesn't appear that he's at risk of missing much more than Thursday's game.
