Coach Adam Oates is reuniting Karl Alzner and John Carlson on the blueline. Oates is concerned about the defensive play of the Capitals and Carlson is minus-five thus far with his ex-partner Mike Green a minus-seven. Oates is hoping that a return of Carlson and Alzner will help. Alzner is solid defensively and that should help Carlson.
