Cleary is expected to serve as a healthy scratch in Thursday's opener against the Bruins, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports. The Red Wings brought Cleary back on a good-faith deal in the offseason, but he provides most of his value in the locker room rather than on the ice. If he's not a regular healthy scratch for the Red Wings most nights, he'll be little more than a fourth-liner.
