Clarkson skated on his own Monday, and was cleared to practice fully Thursday, indicating a return to game action may be on the horizon for the 31-year-old winger. However, he will likely need to log a number of full practices before drawing back into Columbus' lineup, so a return to action Friday against the Panthers seems highly unlikely at this point in time. Clarkson is still on injured reserve, so the Blue Jackets should announce his activation one he is fit to play.
