Chris Tanev has hired Vancouver-based agent Ross Gurney to help him negotiate a contract with the Vancouver Canucks. Tanev and his father, Mike, began contract talks with the Canucks in mid-May, but they have decided to go with someone with more expertise at this stage of the process. He will become an restricted free agent in July.
