Chris Tanev, a restricted free agent with the Vancouver Canucks, has drawn interest from KHL clubs, and you get the impression Canuck general manager Steve Tambellini isn't trying to dissuade the defenseman from jumping. "He is a young talented defenceman who will have success in any league in the world," Tambellini wrote in an email to The Province newspaper in Vancouver. "His skill set allows him to be a very reliable player both offensively and defensively. In both the KHL and NLA (Swiss A league), he would be able to log an elite level of ice time and be a great safety half to a top defence pairing. Chris always seems to complement any partner in the NHL and that would be no different in Europe."
