Chris Kreider signed a two-year, $4.95 million contract with the New York Rangers. Kreider and the Rangers narrowly avoided an arbitration hearing scheduled for Wednesday. Kreider had asked for $2.8 million annually while the Rangers countered with $2.05 million per season, so the two sides agreed to a deal in the middle. He had 17 goals and 37 points in 66 games in 2013-14.
