Chicago GM Stan Bowman tried to get Brandon Saad onto Team USA, but the selection committee decided not to give him a spot on the roster. "He got a lot of attention coming down the stretch. I know he impressed a lot of people who didn't know much about him until the first few months of the season," Bowman said. "The way he's played an all-around game, scoring and doing a little bit of everything, I think it's attractive." Saad said his omission could "fuel the fire a bit." He already has 14 goals and 30 points in 42 games to go with a plus-16 rating.
