Toews missed the entirety of the 2020-21 season with chronic inflammatory response syndrome, but he announced in late June he fully intended to return to action for the 2021-22 campaign, and he appears to be on track to do just that. Chicago will likely limit Toews' workload during training camp and preseason action, but expect the 33-year-old pivot to be in the lineup for the Blackhawks' Opening Night clash with Colorado on Oct. 13.
