Carrick was cut from the training camp roster on Friday, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports.

Carrick failed to jump Ryan Stanton, Taylor Chorney, and Aaron Ness during the preseason and will report to AHL Hershey. The team has high hopes for the 21-year-old after having notched eight goals and 34 assists in 73 games in the minors last season, so he may get a call up at some point this season.
