The stat line was much improved from his preseason debut which was tainted by several minor penalties. Drafted 137th overall in 2012, the Illinois native had a great season with AHL Hershey last year, posting eight goals, 42 points and a minus-8 rating in 73 games. But with a deep defense corps in DC and some lessons still to learn, the smooth-skating defenseman is likely headed back to Hershey for another season, although he may see some action as an injury call up.
