Carolina locked up blueliner Justin Faulk to a six-year contract extension worth $29 million on Monday. The deal carries an average annual value of $4.833 million. Faulk has three goals and 24 points in 65 games with the Hurricanes during his third NHL season. He ranks second on the team in average ice time per game at 23:21 and with this deal in place he should continue to develop as a valuable two-way defenseman in Carolina.
