Thompson may be tasked with serving as the No. 2 behind Laurent Brossoit if Robin Lehner (lower body) is unavailable versus the Kings on Tuesday. In 19 minor-league clashes, the 24-year-old Thompson is 10-6-3 with a .929 save percentage but will be hard-pressed to see action at the NHL level.
