Budaj faced only 16 shots through two periods in Tuesday's loss to Anaheim, but gave up four goals in that span before being pulled.
EDGE Analysis
We knew the fun ride had to come to an end sometime, but this was a rather painful back-to-reality moment for Budaj and his fantasy owners. On the whole, he's had an odd run as the Kings' starting netminder. First, the veteran won four games in a row despite posting just an .891 save percentage in that span; from there, he proceeded to take two losses despite stopping 50 of 53 shots (.943); and now this disaster. Jack Campbell was perfect in relief Tuesday, but it's unclear how comfortable the Kings feel turning to him as a starter, so Budaj's run of seven straight starts may continue.
