This represents the best effort Budaj's put forth since stepping in as the Kings' temporary starter; in fact, his save percentage has improved with every successive start. It's asking a lot of your third-string goalie to send him to overtime every time he's between the pipes, but Budaj and the Kings haven't missed a step. Jeff Zatkoff (groin) should be back to offer reinforcements soon, but the ex-Penguin struggled and then got hurt as Quick's immediate replacement, so the coaching staff is probably in no rush to replace Budaj in net.
