Bryan Allen isn't expected to be signed, according to GM Jim Rutherford, prior to July 1. The veteran defenseman will be permitted to test the market as an unrestricted free agent. Allen recorded 13 points, 111 hits, 188 blocks and 76 penalty minutes in 82 games with the Hurricanes this past season.
