Bruins forward Carl Soderberg was thrust into an important role during Game 5 against the Blackhawks due to the injury suffered by Patrice Bergeron. Soderberg was making his NHL postseason debut in the game as the team's fourth-line winger, but ultimately found himself as the second-line center due to Bergeron's ailment. All things considered, the Swedish transfer acquitted himself well, skating over 14 minutes while winning four of his nine faceoffs. Like all involved, Soderberg expressed hope that Bergeron will suit up for Game 6, saying "Hopefully I'm on the wing the next game, so Bergy is back."
