Brayden Schenn has begun training camp with AHL Adirondack because of the NHL lockout. He is anxious to build off his successful showings with Philadelphia during the second half of the 2011-12 campaign when he scored 10 of his 12 goals in his last 39 games. Schenn said, "I was wanting to build off that, but who says I can't come down here [to the AHL] and continue to develop and gain confidence and just be ready for when another season starts?" The 21-year-old forward added nine points in 11 playoff contests and was starting to look much more comfortable at the NHL level after he started his first year with some injury concerns. Look for him to be a force in the minors, which should help him when the NHL resumes action following the lockout.
