Brandon Saad generated a goal and an assist in Game 7 of the Western Conference Final.
He opened the scoring against Los Angeles and set up Patrick Sharp's power-play goal in the second period to give Chicago a 4-3 lead heading into the final frame. However, the Kings came back and won the contest in overtime to send the defending champs packing. The 21-year-old winger appeared to be getting stronger as the playoffs went on and coach Joel Quenneville was impressed. "We like (Saad's) progress," said Chicago's bench boss. "He's a young kid (and) his upside is definitely big." Saad ended the postseason with three goals and four assists over a four-game point streak to finish with 16 points and a plus-10 rating in 19 contests.
