Brad Richards will not be bought out by the New York Rangers this summer. The Rangers will still have the option to exercise their final compliance buyout in the summer of 2014. Richards is still a great player, but with an annual cap hit of $6,666,667 through the 2019-20 campaign, it wouldn't be surprising if the Rangers used their final compliance buyout on him when they get their final chance to next year.
