Brad Richards scored the "skate-off" goal with 0.1 seconds remaining in the New York Rangers' 3-2 triumph over the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday night. Time actually expired and the referees initially called the goal off, but upon further review, the replay showed that the marquee center's backhander from the left circle crossed the goal line after deflecting off the far post as the buzzer sounded. Richards has had no trouble excelling in the limelight of New York City this season as he has 12 goals and 26 points. His game-winner actually outshone Marian Gaborik's two-goal night in which he notched his 300th career NHL tally. The winger's goals give him 17 on the season to go along with 27 points. These are the types of games teams need their stars to come up big -- and after being down 2-1 entering the third, the Rangers' did just that.
