Blue Jackets goaltender Steve Mason was forced to leave Tuesday's game against Detroit in the first period, but later returned to the game. Mason went to the dressing room late in the opening frame with the Jackets ahead 2-1 and was replaced by Allen York for the remainder of the period, but he emerged from the locker room to start the second and appears no worse for the wear. Mason owners seem to have dodged a bullet.
