Blake Wheeler emerged as the lone Winnipeg player to be named to the Winter Olympic squad of the United States. Jets defensemen Dustin Byfuglien, Jacob Trouba and Zach Bogosian were considered, but none of them made the cut. Wheeler enjoyed an excellent month of December with 10 goals and four assists in 14 games. He leads the team with 15 goals and ranks second with 31 points in 42 contests.
