Bernier gave up three goals on 19 shots Thursday in a 4-2 loss to the Rangers -- his fifth consecutive defeat.
EDGE Analysis
Toronto's not rolling out much of a lineup these days, but Colin Greening nearly bailed Bernier out with a late game-tying goal; unfortunately, he gave up the game-winner 59 seconds later. While it's hard to blame Bernier for any of the Rangers' goals -- particularly the late go-ahead tally by Derek Stepan, which came off an own-zone turnover by Morgan Rielly -- it's also hard to cut him much slack when his save percentage is under .900 for the year. This was his first start in a week, and he won't likely get another too soon with the Leafs not slated to play another back-to-back until early March.
