Benoit Pouliot was instrumental in the Rangers' 3-2 overtime victory over Pittsburgh in Game 1, scoring the opening goal and assisting on the OT winner in Friday's win. Pouliot would have been credited with the overtime winner had Derick Brassard's shot not gone in. Brassard's goal was initially disallowed and play continued, but Pouliot scored seconds later to seal the win and the winner was credited to Brassard. Nonetheless, it was Pouliot's slick pass from behind the net which led to Brassard's winner, and Pouliot now has three goals and six points in eight playoff games.
