Backstrom will be in the net Saturday against the Coyotes, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Though his usage has remained relatively light this season, Backstrom has seen his workload pick up a bit over the last week due to the inconsistency of No. 1 stater Darcy Kuemper. Backstrom will probably have to capitalize on the next several opportunities presented to him if he hopes to ultimately unseat Kuemper for regular starting duties, and Saturday's outing against the Coyotes could be exactly what he needs to gain some momentum. Arizona has dropped four games in a row to drop them to 10-16-3 on the season, with only the lowly Oilers owning a worse record in the Western Conference.
