Backstrom will be in the crease for Saturday's game against the Predators, Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean reports. Backstrom will be the Wild's No. 1 goalie for at least a week with Darcy Kuemper (lower body) on injured reserve. With a 2.73 GAA and .893 save percentage over 16 outings, Backstrom doesn't look to be capable even by the standards of a No. 2 goalie. He'll probably need a top-flight performance from his offense Saturday in order to get the win over the Preds, who will start Vezina Trophy contender Pekka Rinne in the net.
