Backstrom, who was confirmed as the starter in goal for Tuesday's game against the Flyers following the team's morning skate, will be unavailable for the game due to an undisclosed issue, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Darcy Kuemper will instead make the start for the Wild in an interesting reversal, as it was Backstrom who was announced as the late starter for the Wild just one week earlier when an illness kept Kuemper unavailable for a game against the Blackhawks. Backstrom had played through that game sick himself, and it's possible he may have picked up another illness over the afternoon yet again. John Curry was recalled on an emergency basis to act as Kuemper's backup for the time being, but expect the Wild to provide word on Backstrom's condition after the game.
