Backstrom stopped the three shots he faced in relief of Darcy Kuemper Friday against the Ducks. It wasn't much of a test for Backstrom, who was called upon in the third period after Kuemper gave up five goals on just 25 shots. Backstrom is now 3-2-1 on the season with a .917 save percentage and 1.97 GAA. Considering Kuemper has given up at least four goals in three of his last four starts, Backstrom may get some starts in the near-future.
