Backstrom stopped 27 of 30 shots Saturday against the Coyotes before prevailing in the shootout for his second win of the season. Making his second start of the week, Backstrom wasn't particularly outstanding, but managed to come away with back-to-back victories. Coach Mike Yeo has shown decreased faith in No. 1 goalie Darcy Kuemper of late, but Backstrom probably needs to play a little bit better before a legitimate controversy for the starting job emerges.
