Backstrom is set to make $3.4 million this season in the final year of his contract. He's the No. 3 goalie and may not get any starts behind Devan Dubnyk and Darcy Kuemper if both stay healthy. It would seem likely he'll be on the move at some point this season to a team looking for a veteran goalie.
