Backstrom's status for Wednesday's game was in question due to a stomach illness, but he will be able to take the ice as expected. Fellow goaltender Darcy Kuemper is also dealing with an illness and will not be available Wednesday, so John Curry will serve as Backstrom's backup Wednesday night.
