Backstrom (illness) reported improvement Tuesday and is ready to resume practicing, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. It hasn't been decided yet if Backstrom will travel with the team to Columbus for Wednesday's game, but if that's the case, it would likely be just to observe him skating rather than using him as the backup for that night's game. The Wild figure to give Backstrom until the weekend to get back on the ice and regain some injury following his battle with the stomach bug.
