Backstrom allowed three goals on 24 shots in Saturday afternoon's 3-1 loss to the visiting Predators. This was the third straight game Backstrom has allowed three goals, and considering the nine tallies came on just 60 shots (.850 save percentage), it's no surprise that the Wild were winless in all three. The goaltending situation in St. Paul is a disaster to say the least, with Darcy Kuemper currently shelved with a lower-body issue (he wasn't playing well anyway) and Backstrom not being able to even remotely come close to stealing a game for the struggling Wild. With that being said, don't be shocked to see the recently recalled John Curry get another look in net, perhaps as soon as Sunday against the high-flying Blackhawks in what would be his second start of the season.
