Backes scored his third goal of the season Thursday in a win over New Jersey. He added four shots, three hits, and two blocked shots, but was also minus-2 on the night. Backes is off to a bit of a slow start with six points in 12 games. He also recently missed a game with a concussion. Neither should factor into his production over the full course of the season.
