Backed picked up two helpers Saturday in a shootout win over Carolina. It was his third multi-point effort in a row and he was plus-1 with two PIM, three shots, four hits, and a blocked shot in the stat sheet stuffing effort. The whole Blues offense is clicking right now and Backes is eating well as a result with eight points in his las three games. The hot streak has helped his point total recover from a slow start and brings him up to 27 points in 41 games. That's probably where owners expected him to be at this point, only with a smoother production curve, and he should top 50 points again, as usual.
