As expected, Sharp (lower body) was inactive Sunday, when the Stars edged the Senators, 2-1. Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News indicated Wednesday that Sharp will miss at least five days, meaning the soonest he'll return will be March 11, a home match with the Blackhawks.
EDGE Analysis
With 17 goals and 30 helpers this campaign, Sharp has already eclipsed his points output of 43 from 2014-15, his last go-around with the Blackhawks before moving over to The Lone Star State in a trade last summer. If he's able to shake off the injury in time to face his former team, the match will be an emotional one for Sharp, as it was with Chicago that he hoisted Lord Stanley on three separate occasions. Fortunately, Sharp hasn't missed a beat in terms of fantasy value despite swapping sweaters. He's generated 19 points on the man advantage and has the luxury of playing on a scoring line with offensive beasts in Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin. If Sharp needs more time to heal, Brett Richie should continue filling in. For what it's worth, Sharp is not listed on injured reserve, perhaps hinting that his ailment isn't serious.
