Antti Niemi was superb between the pipes Thursday night in the San Jose Sharks' 5-2 win, permitting just two goals on 42 shots against the Detroit Red Wings. Niemi allowed the first goal of the game in a 17-shot first period, but gave Detroit fits all night. The keeper has given up five goals over his last three games and improved his record to 7-2-1 on the year. He's really starting to steady his play after an inconsistent start to the year.
