Antti Niemi was saddled with a 5-2 loss at the hands of the New York Rangers Monday night at Madison Square Garden. The Finnish netminder turned aside 26 shots in the loss. Niemi has been extremely solid in the early going and this is just a bump in the road in what will surely be a productive season in San Jose. Niemi is impressive when he's on, and terrible when he's off, more so than most other goalies. His season record now stands at 4-2-0.
