Antti Niemi was huge in net, as his San Jose Sharks defeated the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 in a shootout on Tuesday. Niemi turned aside 36 of 38 shots and stopped 3 of the 4 shootout attempts he faced. He also made a few key saves in overtime to keep the Sharks alive. The 29-year-old improves to 10-4-4 on the season with a GAA under 1.90 and a SV% above .930. Despite a rough February, Niemi has put together two solid performances to open March. Hopefully he can continue producing at a high level.
