Antti Niemi has stopped 41 of 53 shootout attempts this season. Sharks coach Todd McLellan credited Niemi's patience as the cause of his shootout success. "He's a big man, and he's very patient, takes a lot of the net away," McLellan said. "Just not overly jumpy in the net, and he allows the shooter to make the first move and then he reacts from there." Niemi's success in the skills competition is nothing new. He has a 31-20 record in shootouts and has stopped 74.7% of shooter attempts.
