Antti Niemi had a quiet night in net, but did just enough to eke out the 2-1 victory against the Boston Bruins on Thursday night. This was a game that should have featured two desperate teams, one vying for a playoff spot (Sharks) and the other (Bruins) trying not to free fall out of the division lead and possibly out of the playoffs. Only one really showed up, and Niemi had to make just 16 saves for his 29th win of the year. The Sharks are one point out of eighth place in the Western Conference.
