Antti Niemi (cyst) is currently on track to be ready for the Sharks' season opener, according to Sharks GM Doug Wilson. That's great news for San Jose, as backup goaltender Antero Niittymaki will definitely miss the start of the season due to a hip injury. Niemi had a 2.38 GAA and .920 save percentage in 60 starts last season.
