Antti Niemi allowed only one goal, but suffered the loss as the Buffalo Sabres edged the San Jose Sharks 1-0 on Thursday night. The Sharks controlled the play for much of the night, but Drew Staffod's goal off a turnover with about a minute remaining in the first period proved to be the difference. Niemi faced 10 of the 19 shots in the first 20 minutes. He's got a 25-16-6 record with a 2.43 goals-against average and .914 save percentage this season.
