Anton Volchenkov will return to North America after spending some of the lockout with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod of the KHL. The hard-nosed defender had one assist and a minus-1 rating in 11 games overseas. Volchenkov broke a bone in his left foot in mid-October, but he was able to return to active duty and avoid a possible suspension had he still be hurt when the lockout ended.
