Andrew Ference may be permitted to depart Boston as an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Bruins have several young blueliners who appear to be ready to take his place on the roster going into next year and they will come at a cheaper price tag. The rugged veteran would also probably attract his fair share of interest on the open market.
