Anderson (hand) will serve as the backup to Andrew Hammond for Friday's game against the Jets, Dean Brown of TSN 1200 reports. Anderson was activated from injured reserve earlier this week, but it doesn't sound like the Senators are comfortable throwing him back into the net for a start quite yet. Fortunately, the sensational play of fill-in goalie Andrew Hammond has allowed the Senators to stay competitive during Anderson's absence, lessening the need of the team to rush their No. 1 netminder back from IR. Anderson probably isn't quite at full strength following the bout with the hand injury, but he's healthy enough to give the team another option in goal. Once Hammond falls back to earth a bit, Anderson should get his opportunity to reclaim the regular starting gig for good.
