Even for a shutdown defender, the dearth of scoring is still troubling for the 27-year-old defenseman who looked more promising in terms of offense at the outset of 2016-17. Increasing his offensive output certainly won't hurt Alzner's chances of landing a lucrative, long-term contract as he heads into free agency next summer. But for now, with so little production and a lack of opportunity on the power play, fantasy owners should look elsewhere.
