Although Brayden McNabb will probably start the 2012-13 season in the minors, he's still holding out hope going into training camp. "I know I can play in the NHL and I believe in myself," McNabb said. "[The AHL] is not what I want. ... I'm going out still trying to prove myself and I'm going to work as hard as I can and do what I can to try to make this team." The problem is that the Sabres already have eight defensemen signed to one-way contracts, so the odds are heavily stacked against McNabb. That being said, he might join the team at some point as an injury replacement.
