Allen will work between the pipes Saturday evening, facing the Sharks on the road in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals.
EDGE Analysis
The Blues have leaned heavily on Brian Elliott throughout the team's postseason run, but the 31-year-old netminder has struggled against the Sharks' high-powered offense during the Western Conference Finals, compiling a 1-2-0 record with a 2.59 GAA and .899 save percentage over three starts. To be fair, Elliott hasn't gotten much help from his teammates. The Blues have been shut out in back-to-back contests, and haven't scored a goal since the second period of Game 1. Head coach Ken Hitchcock will hope that Allen's presence in net will light a fire under the rest of his under-performing squad. The 25-year-old backstop played well during the regular season, posting a 26-15-3 record with a 2.35 GAA and .920 save percentage over 47 appearances, and could make for a somewhat sneaky play in daily contests Saturday against San Jose.
